Culture Flow Projects Non-Profit (CFP) is an operating partner of PiYoDa Flow studio (PYD).

Culture Flow Projects + PiYoDa Flow need your help! â€‹

CFP’s mission has previously been supported by the California Arts Council, LA County Arts and Culture, and the Department of Cultural Affairs.
During our time as a non-profit, we have created a space where BIPOC dancers can create, youth can thrive and learn, and marginalized groups have access to dance and cultural education. Through our SEED Program, Youth Program, and outreach for incarcerated youth in Southern California, CFP is a conduit to creating a world that is cultural conscious and values the arts.
Although funding from these institutions has been instrumental in our growth, CFP has been impacted by the stripping of arts funding that has hit many across our field under this administration against DEI missions, which has resulted in our funding being cut by 85% for the coming year of 2026.

Your donation is crucial to continue our mission supporting local youth, families and BIPOC Artists to continue learning, growing, and creating close to home.

About Culture Flow Projects

Culture Flow Projects, housed at PiYoDa Flow in West Adams, aims to provide affordable and sustainable dance training for youth K-12 and access to studio space for emerging artists in the greater Los Angeles area. We are a community of movement-based artists and cultural educators devoted to creating space for global dance engagement and exploration.

L.A. is a vibrant multicultural landscape whose global presence seeps into the everyday lives of Los Angelinos. In this way, we believe that global and diasporic communities and cultures are significant contributors to L.A.’s vibrant arts and dance scene. Our work is centered around keeping these varied cultures and dance practices alive and thriving.

Culture Flow Projects is two parts:

(1) a K-12 outreach arts/dance program at PiYoDa Flow and partnering schools in South L.A. and surrounding areas. We make dance training from around the world available to children and teenagers. We offer Afro-diasporic, LatinX, Yoga, Contemporary and Street dance training, performance opportunities, dance workshops and intensives/camps, and arts-based pre-college mentorship. At the same time, we advocate for and teach Culture Flow values of positive body image, wellness, creativity, culture significance and continuity, and community-building to our students.

(2) a residency program for emerging artists, ages 18 and up, interested in working at the intersection of street/social dance and experimental choreography. We encourage engagement in storytelling and social justice, and applicants from global and diasporic perspectives to apply.

Culture Flow Projects is an ongoing project that requires constant support to pay for teaching artists, space, and administrative labor. Please make a contribution today and support us in nurturing Los Angeles’s rich and diverse dance scene!
