SEED Artist Residency is a 3-6 month program that was developed to make room for BIPOC Artists to create work in Afro Diasporic Street and Social Dance Styles. CFP has hosted 5 residencies in the past 4 years which have produced new works by emerging artists in Los Angeles. See below our current and past resident artists.

Malia Henderson

SEED Artist Resident 2026

Malia is a Miami, FL native that resides in Los Angeles, CA as a multi-disciplinary movement artist & choreographer. As a graduate of Alabama State University where she earned a B.F.A Degree in Dance, and performed works by renowned artists Ronald K. Brown, Crystal Perkins, and Jana B. Thompkins. Malia continues to navigate numerous artistic spaces in commercial, film and theater. She has worked with companies such as Viver Brasil Dance Company, Komanse Dance Theater, and Le Ballet Dembaya.

Her artistic approach is influenced by various Afro-Diasporic styles. She brings a vibrant cultural and rhythmic impact into every space. Malia continues to define herself as a dancer and choreographer through creating thought-provoking movement art and honoring black cultural heritage through the study of Afro-diasporic dance. .

Dominique Pompa

SEED Artist Resident 2026

Born and raised in East Los Angeles, Dominique Pompa is a multidisciplinary movement artist whose work is driven by curiosity, culture, and intuition. She creates from an organic, embodied place where movement becomes a language for liberation, identity, and connection. Rooted in her Chicana identity, Dominique blends texture, rhythm, and feeling to build immersive, honest worlds while fostering collaborative spaces for exploration and co-creation. Her work emerges because her spirit demands expression—and through her work, she invites others into that same freedom.
